What do I bring?

*Required* - Updated Rabies and Kennel Cough (Bordetella) Vaccinations, brought in or faxed (860.413.9883)

The Bordetella vaccine reduces the severity of symptoms caused by the diseases of the Kennel Cough Complex. Much like a human Flu Shot, it does not guarantee your dog will not get Kennel Cough. It is to be given to dogs who are at high risk, ie. kenneling, grooming, dog show, or hospitalization. The vaccine may cause transient coughing and/or sneezing.

The Bordetella vaccine needs aproximately 2 weeks to take full effect after it is administered. Please plan accordingly so your pet is best protected during his/her stay.

Food - We recommend that you provide the food. Your dog will do much better sticking to his or her regular diet. Remember to bring enough for the length of your pet's stay! However, if you prefer, we will supply our food for an extra $4 per day.

Treats - Any cookies or chewies that your pup enjoys at home will surely be enjoyed here. We give treats before naptime and bedtime and also throughout the day to reward good behavior.

Bedding & Toys - Anything that makes your pet more comfortable during his or her stay is welcome. We also supply moving blankets, fleece blankies, and comforters if you choose not to bring bedding. Please be aware that beds and blankets may be chewed. We are not responsible for damaged bedding.

Please do not leave leashes and bowls. All meals are served in stainless steel bowls.

Where will my dog stay while at the kennel?

We have several different sized kennels to suit our customers' needs. Kennel sizes range from 3.5x4 feet to 5x5 feet, each with access to an individual 5x10 outdoor cement run.

For smaller dogs, puppies, and crate-trained dogs, we offer small, medium, and large crates.

The entire kennel is heated and air conditioned for everyone's comfort. Fresh water is always accessible.

How much time does my dog spend outside?

Dogs have access to our fully fenced 2 acre pasture and smaller grassy areas 4 times daily. Each outdoor session lasts 20 minutes to an hour depending on weather conditions.

During the summer our wading pool is filled up for those who enjoy a dip in the cool water! Shaded lounging areas in our central courtyard are a common hangout during pool time, too.

How many people are in the field during playtime?

There is always a minimum of 2 people out with the dogs during playtime. When there are 10+ dogs, we have 3-5 staff members for ensured safety.

Do all dogs get to play together?

All sociable dogs are allowed to play together in the 2 acre pasture. Those who do not mix well will spend outdoor time in a separate grassy area playing with members of our staff.

Small playgroups of 2-4 dogs are also formed for more compatible play, depending on size and temperament.

Is the staff present all day?

Owners Eric and Debbie live on premises, so they are nearby at all times. The staff is here from 7:30am -11:30am and 3:30pm - 7:30pm. Between the hours of 11:30 and 3:30 everyone is tucked in for naptime in their dedicated kennel.

What if my dog needs special attention?

Special requests are welcome at no extra charge. We're always happy to administer medications, honor special dietary requests, brush your pet, provide behavior training and command reinforcement. Even tucking your pup in at bedtime is okay with us. TLC is what we do best.

We treat your pet like we would our own.

When are the drop off & pick up times?

We are open to the public Monday to Saturday 9 - 10:30 am & 5 - 7:00 pm. Sunday hours are 5 - 7:00 pm ONLY. We are CLOSED Sunday mornings.

If you are dropping off your pet in the evening, we ask that you are here no later than 6:30 pm. It is only fair that your pet has the chance to get settled (sniff around, go to the bathroom, etc.) before he or she is kenneled for the night.

Kennel tours are also welcome during these hours.

Why does my dog need the Bordetella vaccine?

The Bordetella vaccine reduces the severity of symptoms caused by the diseases of the Kennel Cough Complex. Much like a human Flu Shot, it does not guarantee your dog will not get Kennel Cough.
